Making myself vulnerable to you <3

This post is about bringing value to you, every week, but if I can't connect with you, what point is there in my content? So I will be transparent with you, this week's email is about vulnerability. It will follow the usual format, but I am going through a difficult time and I don't want to hide it by pretending it's not there. It's a situation that is out of my control, but what I can control is how I react to it. And I choose to do so, by being vulnerable with you guys, my lovely readers I will not only be sharing a beautiful ted talk on vulnerability (and even a great podcast - 2 in 1, feeling generous ). I will also be sharing a vulnerable part of me. I am in Rome at the moment and it's very hot so I recorded my flow in a sports bra and shorts at a time in which I am not looking, what I would regard as, "my very best", but that's okay. I am letting go of who I think I should be, for who I really am right now. No 4-6 pack (depending on lighting ), and little motivation to train (just flowing at the moment) but I am learning self compassion and it's a beautiful feeling. I hope you enjoy this and I hope it inspires you to be vulnerable and connect with yourself and others. #1. BADASS flow this week I have introduced the scorpion into this week's flow. It is badass (hence the title). There are 3 versions of a scorpion: Form specific stretch: "Scorpion Reach" Switch & Transitions: "Scorpion Switch" "Full Scorpion" I started the video with some mobility, then broke down the scorpion movements for you and finally recorded the flow with and without call outs. Now you are getting used to my call outs, I have written them down for you! The 'tos' and 'intos' make the tempo of the flow speed up as they connect movements. You'll see the full scorpion is a nice move to then slow down the tempo. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy and is the author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, and her latest book, Dare to Lead, which is the culmination of a seven-year study on courage and leadership. She also has a lecture filmed and recorded on Netflix, which I haven't yet watched, but will get to at some point soon! That's all I'll share, have a listen. #3 Healthy Habit Hack Gratitude circles. I don't even know if it's a thing, or if it's something I made up, but I am currently at my parents' house and as my father is very unwell and my mother has a lot on her plate, I have been sucked into the just "doing" without really stopping to feel, and yes, I'll say it again, let myself be vulnerable. So I started the morning yesterday, by inviting my parents into my gratitude morning ritual, and asked them both to say 3 things they were grateful for. My father struggles to talk at the moment, he is always out of breath, but I watched him make the effort and form (what nearly looked like a) smile after saying his. My mum also relaxed for a moment which was nice to see. For a quick 5 minutes, we just stopped and reset. This is my hack this week. If you, or your family or group of friends, are going through a tough time, just starting a little exercise like this when people aren't used to it, brings a smile, nevermind the exercise itself! In Animal Flow, we call this an "energy break" (you can see one in the flow I posted today ) - it happens when you keep moving via momentum in one direction, and suddenly you... stop. That's how I see this little habit hack.. ..an "energy break". #4 Weekly challenge I challenge you to a nice little energy break. When you are going through a stressful time, or feel a bit foggy, or things get a little too much. Reset a moment, focus on your breathing, focus on 3 things you are grateful for.
